HMBR Webinar on the Final Title IX Regulations

HMBR WEBINAR ON THE FINAL TITLE IX REGULATIONS
Wednesday, May 13, 2020, 1-2 p.m. CST

HMBR is pleased to invite you to attend our webinar on the final Title IX regulations. The regulations, released by the U.S. Department of Education on May 6, 2020, dramatically reset the rules for how colleges and universities must address campus sexual misconduct and are scheduled to go into effect in just three months, on August 14.

This timely webinar will provide a practical overview of the new Title IX regulations from the perspective of HMBR partner Debbie Osgood, a long-time former official with the Department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR). The webinar will address:

  • The New Rules: What do colleges and universities need to do to comply with the new Title IX requirements?
  • Key Provisions: Live hearings, employees, access to evidence, appeals.
  • Policies & Procedures: Revisions to sexual misconduct policies & procedures.
  • Organizational Structure: Changes to the roles of Title IX Coordinators, Hearing Officers, Responsible Employees, and Informal Resolution Facilitators.
  • Campus Culture: How to help the campus community understand how and why changes are being made.
  • “Title IX+”: Can colleges and universities can do more than required?
Debbie will also share her insights on how OCR will likely handle sexual harassment cases going forward.
