IN MEMORIAM

It is with great sadness and a profound sense of loss that we share the news of the death of Carol C. Hogan, one of the firm’s founding partners. Carol died peacefully on September 30th at her home in Indiana.

Carol has been an invaluable member of the HMBR family since the firm began in 1993.  A brilliant attorney, she was known as an expert in regulatory matters, issues involving tax exemption, Stark, Medicare and Medicaid fraud laws. Carol participated in the development of innovative transactions designed to improve health care delivery and quality which propelled the firm into national recognition for its expertise in hospital mergers, joint ventures, integrated care delivery system formation, and the transformation of managed care.

She will be missed beyond measure, and remembered fondly for her larger-than-life personality, quick wit, extraordinary skill as a storyteller and exuberant love of dancing.

Carol was the beloved wife of Ed Hogan. She is also survived by her brother, John Collins (Jackie), and many, many family members and friends.
