FTC/DOJ Antitrust Investigations

Helping Clients Respond to FTC/DOJ Antitrust Investigations

HMBR offers a team of attorneys experienced in representing clients under civil and criminal investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for violations of the antitrust laws.  We are very familiar with the methods and procedures these agencies use in their examinations and work with our clients to develop appropriate responses at every phase of the investigative process.  Our lawyers appreciate the significant costs, risks and disruptions associated with antitrust investigations and strive to reach favorable resolutions in the most expeditious manner possible.

Building a Strategic Defense at Every Stage

The attorneys at our firm primarily counsel and defend institutions and individuals in the healthcare and education areas under federal investigation for a wide variety of anticompetitive conduct, such as alleged arrangements to create monopolies and fix prices and engage in other anticompetitive practices.  Our team includes lawyers with former experience working as government enforcement attorneys, including within the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).  We leverage a firm understanding of the antitrust laws and agency enforcement actions to help our clients build a strategic defense at each stage of the investigation.

While our objective is to bring antitrust investigations to a close as early on as possible, our lawyers are skilled trial attorneys who are fully prepared to see the case through litigation.  When antitrust charges cannot be appropriately settled at the investigative level, HMBR attorneys will mount an aggressive defense in court, including any appeals.
