Audrey Kaplan is a partner at Hogan Marren Babbo & Rose, Ltd.  Before joining the firm in 2017, Ms. Kaplan spent the previous decade of her career working in-house for proprietary school groups.  She has worked for both publicly traded and privately held school groups and has experience with online and campus based operations across the country.  Ms. Kaplan is dedicated to serving the needs of postsecondary institutions and is passionate about promoting opportunities for access to educational choice for students at the elementary and secondary school level. 

Ms. Kaplan held various legal and regulatory compliance positions in-house, including General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.  Ms. Kaplan has worked on a wide range of matters, including but not limited to, change of ownership; mergers and acquisitions; program reviews; governance and scope of authority; Office of Civil Right (OCR) matters; accommodations, accreditation, state authorization and licensing; training; regulatory compliance and reporting at the state and federal level; clinical agreements and other educational services contracts; policy formulation and implementation; and serving as Secretary or Recording Secretary to Boards of Trustees.

During her tenure at Adtalem Education (fka DeVry Education) Ms. Kaplan worked as dedicated counsel to American University of the Caribbean (AUC), Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM), and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM), integrating herself as part of the senior leadership team and forging strong relationships with the personnel based in both the Caribbean and US. 

Ms. Kaplan’s legal expertise is supplemented by her business experience gained through her involvement in virtually every aspect of school operations.  Additionally, prior to her work in higher education, Ms. Kaplan spent approximately ten years working in-house and as outside counsel to businesses in other regulated industries.
