Justice Laura Liu Kasper

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Laura Liu Kasper.

Laura joined the litigation practice of our firm in 1998 and played a key role in many of our major cases.   In 2010, the Illinois Supreme Court appointed her to the Cook County Circuit Court.  She was the first Chinese-American female judge in the state and the first Chinese-American judge of any gender to serve in Cook County.

On February 3, 2014, Laura was appointed to the 1st District Appellate Court. 

Most importantly, Laura was a devoted wife and mother and a cherished friend and colleague. Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael, Sophie and all of Laura’s family.
