DOE Announcement of 2019 Gainful Employment Disclosure Dates

We previously communicated that on May 16, 2019, (though dated 5/9/19) The Department of Education posted the  Electronic Announcement #119 – Release of the 2019 GE Disclosure Template.  The deadline for compliance for all institutions with programs subject to Gainful Employment is still  July 1, 2019. 

On May 23, 2019, the Department issued a new in Electronic Announcement #120 – Announcement of Applicable 2019 GE Disclosure Dates.  This announcement includes additional details, which build upon the specific requirements of the regulations.

#120 explains that all institutions with programs subject to the GE regulations, will:

•            Be required to provide a prospective student or a third party acting on behalf of the prospective student, as a separate document, a copy of the disclosure template before the prospective student signs an enrollment agreement, completes registration, or makes a financial commitment to the institution; and

•            All promotional materials made available by or on behalf of an institution to prospective students that identify a GE program by name, or otherwise promote the program, must include the disclosure template in a prominent manner.
